About Mahjong Solitaire

Mahjong Solitaire is the classic tile-matching puzzle, free to play right in your browser. Clear the board by pairing identical tiles, but only tiles that are free can be picked: nothing may sit on top of them, and at least their left or right side must be open. Plan ahead, because the order you remove pairs decides whether the last tiles can be reached. Choose from more than 80 layouts, from the traditional Turtle to dragons, animals and abstract shapes, or generate a random board at easy, medium or expert difficulty. Stuck? Ask for a hint, undo a move or shuffle your thinking with a fresh deal. A daily challenge brings one new board and rule set every day, with timed runs, score hunts and streaks to chase. Switch between several tile designs and dark tiles, and pick a background and color theme you like. Your progress and best times are saved automatically.

How to play

Click or tap a free tile, then its matching partner, to remove the pair. Use Hint to highlight a possible match and Undo to take a move back. Drag to pan and pinch or scroll to zoom large boards. Keyboard: Tab and arrow keys move between tiles, Enter selects; shortcuts for hint, undo, pause and new game are listed in Help.
